I receive emails, phone calls and walk ins almost every day from artists wanting to know if they can have an exhibition or stock their work in my gallery, or what I think of this business idea, and can I help them with that application. I love helping people (especially artists – which is why I’m starting this website) but what I have noticed that is common to almost everyone who asks for my help is their lack of preparation.

That’s what this website is all about – bridging that knowledge gap and hopefully saving everyone a lot of time in the process. Being a successful artist can seem impossible, but there are some things I’ve learnt in my career about art and business – both as the owner of a successful commercial gallery, and in my former life as Australia’s first Creative Industries Cluster Manager – that can help artists streamline their practice, improve their industry interactions and have a better shot at success.

If you have any questions for me, I’d love to hear them! From how galleries work, to how to start a business as a creative person, and everything in between – please ask away.
